What is Blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty is a surgical operation to improve the appearance of the eyelids.
While undesirable conditions around the eyes, such as wrinkles, fat tissues, and sagging, occur due to aging and excessive weight gain and loss in general, it occurs due to genetic factors in young people.
Some of the aesthetic operations being done with blepharoplasty are as follows;

During the surgery, care is taken to ensure that the incision site is hidden in the natural structure of the eye. Through an incision in the eyelid crease, removal or repositioning of fat deposits, tightening of muscles, and removal of excess skin are performed.
On the lower eyelid, an incision is made just below the lash line, and the excess fat tissue is removed, the skin is pulled up, the excess part is removed, and the operation is completed by suturing.
Thanks to an incision made in the eyelid, the excess fat tissue can be removed, and some operations can be performed to correct the shape of the eyelid. However, it is impossible to stretch the skin in the incisions to be made inside the eye.
Is blepharoplasty risky?
The risk rate in blepharoplasty operations is very low, and an aesthetic appearance is achieved to a large extent. As a result of the operations in case of necessity, the patient's quality of life increases, and problems such as pain around the eyes are eliminated.
Before the surgery, do not forget to tell your doctor about your medications. Do not take aspirin or any blood thinners before the surgery. It would help if you also quit smoking and alcohol consumption at least three weeks before the surgery.
How long does recovery take after blepharoplasty?
Sometimes, you may need to stay in the hospital for 1-2 days due to complications that may occur after the surgery. If no complications are found in the controls, your discharge procedures will be initiated.
Swelling and slight bleeding may occur in the first few days after the surgery. With this; It is also normal to have complaints such as difficulty in blinking, a feeling of dryness in the eyes, and blurred vision due to the ointment applied to the eye. Over time, these complaints disappear.
