Temporal Lifting
What is Temporal Lift Surgery?
Although the depth varies from person to person, there are horizontal lines on the forehead of every person. These vertical lines between the two eyebrows become deeper as age progresses and an aesthetically undesirable appearance occurs.
It is impossible to hide these lines, which appear due to advancing age, genetic structure, and malnutrition. The deep lines and the drooping of the eyebrows due to age cause an older, irritable and tired look. Temporal lifting surgery eliminates these lines, especially in men and women over 40. With the temporal lifting surgery, the drooping eyebrows are also lifted, giving the person a younger and more aesthetic appearance. In this way, wrinkles around the eyes are also removed.
How is temporal lift surgery performed?
In temple stretching surgery, two methods can be operated;
Coronal incision technique: By making an incision 4-5 cm from the hairline, the muscles that cause wrinkles are restructured, or some of them are removed when necessary. With this classical method, eyebrow lifting surgery is performed simultaneously, the excess skin is removed, and the eyebrows are kept higher.
Endoscopic temporal lifting technique: In this technique, which has been widely used especially recently, a few small incisions are made on the scalp, and the procedure is completed with the help of a small video camera (endoscope) with a light at the end. In surgeries performed with the endoscopy method, a more comfortable operation is possible for the patient since the procedure is performed with minimal incisions. In addition, there is no loss of sensation in the scalp after the operation.
How long does temporal lift surgery take?
Temporal lift surgery takes an average of 2 hours. If it is to be performed with another plastic surgery, this period may be extended. The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia.
How long does it take to heal after temporal lift surgery?
If there is no abnormality in the examinations after the surgery, the patient is discharged on the same day or the next day. Although the first postoperative period is not very painful, bruises and swelling may occur around the eyes and forehead. These disappear within two weeks. Bandages are applied in such a way that the eyes, nose, and mouth remain open.
The success rate of the surgery is very high, and it is possible to return to normal life in two weeks.
